in the quiet and the stillness i know that You are God in the secret of Your presence i know there i am restored
when You call i won't refuse each new day again i'll choose
there is no one else for me none but Jesus crucified to set me free now i live to bring Him praise
in the chaos and confusion i know You're sovereign still in the moment of my weakness You give me grace to do Your will
when You call i won't delay this my song through all my day
i lost my cool the other day. and what was worse was that it wasn't in person. it was over the phone. somebody told me i couldn't have something that was all ready mine. i thought i misunderstood him so i asked him to repeat himself.
no, you're not allowed to have it.
it took some force but i got what was rightfully mine. i'm pretty sure that would preach. too bad i'm not a preacher. _____
the price of gas is ri.di.cu.lous. i'd ride my bike to work if it wasn't a 26 mile commute each way. although i guess i'd have to own a bike first. _____
i'm planning a mission service at my church. need ideas. please. _____
my iPhone fell off a machine at the gym the other day and it now has a HUGE DENT in the back. i said a few choice words, picked it up and threw the case it was in away. very, very frustrating. but it still works with no problems, just looks a little odd now. guess i should be grateful the fall didn't totally disable it. _____
i heart revolution. that's all i have to say about that.
it's official. i booked the trip today and paid the deposit. this is where i'll be soon.

so i've been thinking about this quite a bit lately. the world in our city. the world in our city. the world in our city!
but last night it hit me between the eyes.
for those of you who don't live in louisville and aren't familiar with the phrase "thunder over louisville", let me explain. it's the largest fireworks show in america and officially begins the kentucky derby festival which leads up to, you guessed it, the kentucky derby.
the show always has some kind of theme. years past have had broadway, country and patriotic themes. but this year the theme was "out of this world". there was all sorts of international music and sound that served as a soundtrack to the actual fireworks. the celtic music was accompanied by green colored fireworks and so forth.
louisville is a uniquely international city. we're only one of a select number of cities in the united states that serves as a refugee relocation site.
what does this mean for louisville? for the christian community? for nvmc specifically?
can you see it?
what i was doing ten years ago? - working at a hotel - planning my wedding with my fiance - being dumb - being irresponsible - blowing my money
five things on my to-do list this week? - work-out - drink 96oz of h2o per day - have lunch with a buddy of mine - save $$$ - send in my application for my 3rd passport
five places i have traveled - eldoret, kenya - tel aviv, israel - london, england - hluhluwe, south africa - abu dhabi, united arab emirates
five places i've lived - glasgow, kentucky - hazard, kentucky - cleveland, tennessee - durban, south africa - louisville, kentucky
five jobs i've had - market research - hotel do-it-all person - shredder - worked for one day for a semi well-known christian singer/preacher - gofer for a department head at my university
so this weekend my house was FULL of people. 14 to be exact under one roof. but it was packed for a good reason.
my sister and mother started college together, took classes together, studied together, traveled out of the country together and occasionally cursed their professors together. (just kidding, mother)
they also graduated together today.
congratulations graduates.
i've had 128 ounces of water today.
128 (32 * 4)
and in no particular order:
1. gas prices can go up $0.30 in the matter of a few hours. 2. if something looks suspicious, don't eat it. flies aren't supposed to be in the icing on a cake. 3. spinning class is no joke and my boys didn't like it.
my niece told me tonight that i was going to be a "wrong daddy". i think that was her way of telling me not to procreate. _____
i've only recently discovered the goodness that is jason mraz. i downloaded his newest EP off of iTunes and it's mmm good. _____
i've done 10.5 miles this week so far. i'm not for sure if i'm going to be able to run the mini-marathon in a few weeks or not. the doctor told me not to run it because of my bad leg. since i haven't decided what to do, i'm going to keep training just in case. _____
lots of change going on for me this week. lots. phlegmatic's typically don't like change, but i'm doing well so far. did i mention there is a lot of change? _____
my (ex)girlfriend bought me a bobblehead jesus several months ago. i recently came across it again and have it proudly displayed. it makes me laugh and reminds me not to be religious. _____
RIP bill keightley.
