so i thought i was going to get to see an old (girl) friend this weekend, but turns out i'm not. so i sent her a text message that said:
"sorry you're not going to get to see my hot body this weekend."
to which she replied:
"thank God! He's merciful."
the worst part of it all? i couldn't think of a clever comeback. i hate when i can't think of a clever comeback.
my dad has been home from indianapolis a lot lately because work is s-l-o-w. he keeps going around grabbing my mom's buttocks and it's making me sick.
i wish his work would pick-up.
i (finally) got this book in the mail today! yeah!!!
1. aol - this was my first email address. it's the one i give the "marketers". 2. hotmail - this is the one i used in college, so friends of mine around the world use this one. 3. work - this is a necessary evil. no getting around this one. cannot use this for personal email. 4. gmail - i got a gmail addy because it's cool to have a gmail addy. no other reason. i want to be cool. 5. church - i have an email through church and is only used for church purposes. 6. myspace - ok, myspace really isn't an email, but it's where i receive the vast majority of written messages. although it has an inbox and a sent folder, so i guess it could be considerd email!?
people who can only talk about God, regardless of the actual topic of conversation, get on my nerves.
Jesus, i'm available to You my will i give to You i'll do what You say to use me, Lord to show someone the way and enable me to say my storage is empty and i am available to You
i was jealous. plain and simple.
one of the intercultural studies program (isp) professors from lee university spoke at church tonight. he talked about all the places he and his family have gone for missions work. ecuador. costa rica. china. he told of some of the miracles he'd seen God do while serving as a missionary. and i sat up in the media room. alone. and cried. i was so thankful for what he's seen and what God has been able to do through his life. but i was jealous. i was thinking, "HELLO GOD! DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM? DO YOU KNOW I'M READY TO GO?" i can't hardly think or talk about missions without crying. the older i get, the more of a burden i have for missions and the more i want to go. now.
but i'm not going now. i can't go now. i'm (still) paying off debt.
debt sucks.
i got stuck on an elevator yesterday with 5 other people. fun. after the realization set in that we were actually stuck, one lady started saying, "oh Jesus. oh thank you Jesus. i love you Jesus. oh Jesus." another lady had parkinsons disease and was shaking a whole lot. after about 5 minutes, she decided she would hold down the alarm button until they rescued us. after about 30 seconds of the piercing noise violating my ear drums i started calling out on Jesus too. _____
i'm going to jacksonville, florida, in a few weeks and can't wait. _____
a guy (and his wife) that i had classes with in college was on american idol tonight. we heard from his family that he made it to the top 40, but we don't know anything more. i'm pretty excited to see where this takes them. _____
i'm a democrat. and i love being a democrat. but nancy pelosi drove me nuts tonight during the president's state of the union address. for real. she kept doing this weird thing with her mouth. at one point it looked like the candy in her mouth got stuck on her front two teeth and she was trying to use her tongue to get it off. then she kept clapping and standing up for republican policies. hello! you're the democratic speaker of the house! don't clap and stand up for the white man policies! oy vey... drove me nuts! _____
i purchased my own domain tonight for my blog. (so if you link to me, get ready to change your link.) i'm not going to tell you the site yet because i want to get it up and going first. i think the domain name is pretty cool though. i like it. a lot. _____
i ate at bw3's today for lunch and had the mango habenero sauce. yum. i love food. _____
i want to provide links to the above words: college, american idol, nancy pelosi and bw3's. but i don't feel like typing all of that code out. sorry. i'm a bad blogger.
"The family and friends of Lee University and the citizens of Cleveland lost a great man this weekend. Dr. William Snell, a thirty-year veteran of the Lee faculty and Professor Emeritus of History, passed away on Sunday, January 14. He was 76 years old. “Bill Snell was one of the leaders of the Lee University faculty for thirty years,” said Lee president Paul Conn. “His love for American history, and particularly for the history of East Tennessee and the South, made him a popular teacher with students across the campus. Literally thousands of Lee students have been in his classes over the years, and he will be greatly missed.” Snell taught history at Lee University from 1970-99. Since 1999, he has been Professor Emeritus of History. Snell’s specialty is Colonial American History, but Clevelanders recognize him for his knowledge of Cleveland history. He was the recipient of the Lee University Excellence in Teaching Award in 1979 and the Lee University Excellence in Scholarship Award in 1987. Snell received his M.A. degree in American History from Samford University and his Ph.D. in U.S. History from the University of Alabama. Some of his books include Historic Investigations of the Bear Rive Divide and Segment of the Oregon Trail (1987) and Cleveland, The Beautiful (1986). Dr. Snell has published sections in books including the chapter “Journalism and Cultural Contributions” in The History of Bradley County (1976). He has also published numerous articles including “Masked Men in Montgomery: The Revised Ku Klux Klan in the Capitol Center and Country” (1990) and was the editor of “Myra Inman Diary” which appeared in the Cleveland Daily Banner from 1984-1988. In January of 2004, Cleveland Mayor Tom Rowland declared Monday, March 29 William Snell Day, for his contributions not only to so many students at Lee but to the city of Cleveland."

son: mom something is seriously wrong.
mother: what?
son: i have hair growing in places it's never grown before.
mother: where?
son: (fingers pointed toward the groin area) down there.
mother: that's ok, it's normal.
son: (very indignantly) i don't believe it is!
mother: your daddy will be home tomorrow. talk to him about it then.
makes me happy. kind of like sunshine on my shoulder.
so there was a guy on tv tonight that weighed eight hundred pounds. eight hundred pounds. that's real big. i know this sounds bad, but it made me a little ill to see that much flesh.
eight hundred pounds. his left boob was bigger than my head.
train derails, communities evacuated. yeah, i live 1.5 miles from this.
"And so Jesus gave us a new norm of greatness. If you want to be important—wonderful. If you want to be recognized—wonderful. If you want to be great—wonderful. But recognize that he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. That's a new definition of greatness.
And this morning, the thing that I like about it: by giving that definition of greatness, it means that everybody can be great, because everybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve. You don't have to know about Plato and Aristotle to serve. You don't have to know Einstein's theory of relativity to serve. You don't have to know the second theory of thermodynamics in physics to serve. You only need a heart full of grace, a soul generated by love. And you can be that servant."
-dr. martin luther king, jr.
david beckham is coming to america. and i couldn't be more psyched. soccer is my #2 favorite sport, behind college basketball of course.
the very first game i remember playing on a computer was a DOS-based game called oregon trail. it was the. best. game. ever. the goal of the game was to get your group to oregon. you had to purchase supplies, shoot your own food, cross rivers and survive the winter. unfortunately, in real life lots of people died on their way to the west and the game follows suit. people in your group could die of a plethora of ailments and/or injuries including but not limited to drowning, being shot by thieves trying to nab your loot, your wagon burning, or my favorite "death by dysentery".
i ran across a tee shirt site tonight only to find the you have died of dysentery tee. i want it.
i'm in a blogging funk.
i'd love to talk about my job on here, but i don't want to be dooced. i don't work for a company that encourages or promotes weblogging.
lets just say that i had an interesting day today. that's all i have to say about that.
happy new year! it's hard to believe that today is january 1, 2007. 2007!?
ten years ago i graduated from high school. twenty years ago i had my wreck. lets hope this year will be better than last year...
